BEACON Moment: Alex Clare
George Bernard Shaw once said, “The United States and Great Britain are two countries separated by a common language.” This clever quote may or may not be true. But the music shared between the two countries has overcome the strains of time, thousands of miles of ocean, and even the turmoil of war.
There’s no doubt the British Invasion of the 60s, and the iconic Led Zeppelin albums of the 70s had a dramatic impact on the world of the average American. But it was the hardcore punk movement of the 80s, specifically Minor Threat, that made waves in the life of England native Alex Clare. In his BEACON Moment Alex tells us how these and other factors took him from sitting behind a drum kit to standing behind a microphone on stages all over the world.
