Tasty Track Thursday: ‘Too Hot’ by Swollen Members
Canada has given the world many things, mostly things to laugh at. The Great White North has also given us the wisdom of Alex Trebek, the beauty of Cobie Smulders, and the charm of Alan Thicke. But, when it comes to music, Canada has given birth to top notch musicians of all kinds. From the legendary Neil Young, to the raspy-voiced heartthrob Bryan Adams, to indie pop princesses Tegan and Sara, Canada has a rich heritage of singers, songwriters, and performers.
But, most people don’t think of hip hop when they think of Canada. Then again, most people probably don’t think of Vancouver’s Swollen Members. As someone who prefers hip hop to most of today’s rap super stars, Swollen Members rank fairly high on my list of rockin’ rhyme wranglers. If you are familiar with the group you’ll love today’s Tasty Track, ‘Too Hot.’ If the group is as foreign to you as their native land, you’re in for a healthy dose of Canadian culture.
