Tasty Track Thursday: “45″ by The Gaslight Anthem
The new single from The Gaslight Anthem appeals to two kinds of people: people trying to keep it together after a breakup, and people who love great songwriting. ’45′ is a song about letting someone go and the struggle to recognize it’s all for the best. The grit and growl in Brian Fallon’s voice conveys this sentiment with more conviction than any paint-by-numbers pop song ever could. The single became available for download on iTunes on May 8th in an attempt to whet our appetites for The Gaslight Anthem’s new record “Handwritten”, due out July 24th.
